
Board-certified and fellowship-trained medical oncologists Sajid Ahmed, MD and Nitika Sharma, MD are the latest physicians to join Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA), Atlanta’s physician team.
Serving in healthcare positions since 1984 as a board-certified medical oncologist, Dr. Ahmed has decades of experience treating breast, colon and lung cancer and is an active clinical researcher. Prior to joining CTCA®, Dr. Ahmed was a medical oncologist at John B. Amos Cancer Center in Columbus, Ga. He received his medical degree from Sind Medical College in Karachi, Pakistan and completed an internal medicine internship at the University of Medicine and. Dentistry in Newark, New Jersey. Dr. Ahmed also completed a residency in internal medicine at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla, New York and a fellowship in oncology at St. Vincent’s Hospital and Medical Center in New York.

Board-certified in medical oncology and hematology, Dr. Sharma has practiced in a variety of healthcare settings since earning her medical degree from Kasturba Medical College in Mangalore, India and completing an internal medicine residency at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City, N.J. She also completed a fellowship in hematology-oncology at the Brody School of Medicine at Eastern Carolina University, where she eventually served as chief fellow, medical director and lead physician of thoracic oncology. With experience in thoracic, gastrointestinal and breast cancer care, Dr. Sharma most recently practiced at Annapolis, Md.-based Luminis Health.
