Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta named Stephen F. Simoneaux, M.D, as Chief of Radiology. In his new role, Dr. Simoneaux will serve as chief of the second largest pediatric radiology program in the country.
Since 2000, Dr. Simoneaux has held joint appointments as Medical Director of Radiology at Egleston and Hughes Spalding, as well as Division Director, Pediatric Radiology at Emory University School of Medicine.
Dr. Simoneaux earned a Bachelor of Science from College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va. and his medical degree from University of Miami School of Medicine. He completed his residency at University of Miami’s teaching hospital, Jackson Memorial Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric radiology at Children’s at Egleston.
Children’s radiology program was the first pediatric imaging department in the country, and third overall, to receive the American College of Radiology’s prestigious Diagnostic Imaging Center of Excellence award in recognition of a strong quality program and focus on patient safety initiatives. It is the only radiology program in Georgia to receive this award.
