Central Georgia Health System, which includes the second largest hospital in Georgia and more than 30 additional entities, recently announced a new brand identity that will unify each facility and service line within its existing system for the very first time. The new brand, Navicent Health, symbolizes this health system’s commitment to assisting patients as they navigate the path of care, while keeping the patient at the center of every decision.
“At Navicent Health, we are dedicated to creating excellence in patient care. We believe the high quality care we practice can be better accessed under one umbrella brand that is easier for patients and communities to embrace,” said Ninfa Saunders, President and CEO of Navicent Health. “This philosophy of patient-centered care is practiced throughout our entire health organization, and by unifying our service lines and facilities under one name, we are letting our customers know that Navicent Health is one team, sharing one purpose.”
Navicent Health includes The Medical Center of Central Georgia (MCCG), now named Medical Center, Navicent Health, which is the second largest hospital in Georgia.
Other health system entities include Rehabilitation Hospital, Navicent Health, Children’s Hospital, Navicent Health, the only dedicated pediatric facility in the region; and Medcen, Navicent Health, a $96 million development foundation. In addition, Medical Center of Peach County, Navicent Health provides emergency, surgical, inpatient and outpatient care to the residents of Peach, Crawford and surrounding counties. Carlyle Place, Navicent Health is the area’s first and only continuing care retirement community while Pine Point Hospice, Navicent Health offers palliative and hospice care in homes and in its 15-bed private room facility in Macon. Wellness Services, Navicent Health operates two local fitness centers in addition to numerous wellness programs for patients and the public.
Navicent Health currently employs close to 6,000 people, including 800 physicians and more than 100 medical residents and fellows in training.
With the Navicent Health branding rollout, the health system will implement additional operational changes, including a system-wide quality care initiative and a multi-year undertaking to implement the Six Sigma process driven methodology. The brand change comes just two years into President and CEO Dr. Ninfa Saunders’ tenure with the health system and closely follows the launch of the strategic multi-hospital alliance, Stratus Healthcare, last year.
