MedPost Urgent Care, which currently has five centers in Atlanta, Alpharetta, and Marietta, is expanding its network in Atlanta. On July 7, MedPost opened three more facilities in Stockbridge, Stone Mountain, and Woodstock, respectively. The area centers are part of a growing national network staffed by physician specialists in primary care, internal medicine and emergency medicine, as well as nurse practitioners and other health professionals.
“Our goal is to offer the right type of care at the right time in a convenient and compassionate way,” said Alan Cason, CEO of MedPost. “We play an important role in providing timely care for people when their primary care physician is not available and also for those individuals who are without a regular doctor, relieving the strain on busy emergency departments that are equipped to handle more serious patient conditions.”
MedPost Urgent Care centers also provide follow-up care and specialty referrals when needed. Facilities are typically equipped with X-ray and provide an array of services ranging from flu shots and other immunizations to treatment for such things as upper respiratory infections, sinus problems, allergic reactions, fever, ear aches and orthopedic injuries.
The new facilities are part of a network of 25 MedPost centers located in Arizona, California, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee and Texas. The Stockbridge and Stone Mountain facilities will partner with Atlanta Medical Center, and the Woodstock facility will be a partner of North Fulton Hospital. The partnerships offer patients more options and a simplified referral process should specialty care be needed.
