Kate Koplan, MD, MPH has joined Kaiser Permanente of Georgia as associate medical director of quality and patient safety. In that role, Koplan will focus on population health and disease management, quality and process improvement, and enhancing the overall care experience.
Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Koplan held various leadership roles with Atrius Health in Boston, MA, overseeing quality measurement and performance, hospital relationship development and clinical pharmacy management. She also practiced primary care medicine at Harvard Vanguard Medical Associates, an affiliate of Atrius Health.
Following undergraduate studies at Yale University, Koplan completed medical school at Emory University, where she also earned a master’s degree in public health. In addition to authoring several publications on quality and care improvement, Koplan has taught at Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital Internal Medicine Program.
