Doctors Express, a national urgent care franchise, has awarded a territory to local business partners who plan to open centers in the Gainesville area. Ellen Sullivan and Dr. Kay Holmes were awarded the exclusive rights to Doctors Express centers throughout the area that spans all counties between Brunswick, GA, Tallahassee, FL, Gainesville, FL, Jacksonville, FL and down to Daytona Beach, FL. The two hope to have several centers open within the next five years, and they are looking for partners who share their enthusiasm for community healthcare.
The Doctors Express walk‐in medical centers offer a broad range of treatment and services and have a physician on duty whenever the center is open. At the center physicians are able to diagnose and treat illnesses, dispense medication and have the capabilities to x-ray and set broken bones. The centers also include on‐site labs that give quick test results for ailments such as mono and strep throat. The average wait time at Doctors Express is 15 – 20 minutes.
Sullivan and Dr. Holmes plan to partner with local, highly credentialed physicians in each of their markets to serve as medical directors. The physicians will treat patients and oversee all of the day‐to‐day medical operations of the center.
Currently, there are twelve Doctors Express centers up and running throughout the country. A total of 79 franchises have been awarded in 21 states and 30 will be operating by the end of the year. The long term goal is to have 3,000 Doctors Express centers across the nation, so that a recognizable, reliable healthcare option is available wherever you travel in the U.S.
