Piedmont Hospital is pleased to announce that Christine Janes Bruno, M.D., transplant hepatologist, has joined its Transplant Services team from Kaiser Permanente, where she was administrative head of the Southeast Permanente Hepatology Clinic. Dr. Bruno’s career also includes assistant professor of internal medicine in the division of gastroenterology at Emory University and chief of gastroenterology at Grady Memorial Hospital.
The author of many published articles, abstracts and manuscripts, Dr. Bruno is a member of numerous academic and professional societies, including the American Gastroenterology Association and the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases. She is a board member of the National Viral Hepatitis Round Table and the Hepatitis Foundation International.
Dr. Bruno received her medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire and her bachelor of arts from Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She completed her residency at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center and her fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota.
