Physician Executives of Georgia, Inc. is a non-profit association for physicians in – or aspiring to – leadership and executive roles in Georgia.  Our mission is to empower physician leaders through education, leadership development and networking.  The 2011-2012 President is Don Campbell, M.D., Senior VP Physician Leadership at WellStar Health System.  The Executive Director is Teresa Unser.  The Fall 2011 Meeting is scheduled for September 30, 2011 at Kennesaw State University.

The Medical Association of Georgia (MAG) is the leading advocacy organization for physicians in Georgia, and it’s the primary mechanism that doctors collectively use to achieve a strategic vision for health care in the state. The American Board of Urology (ABU) is organized to encourage study, improve standards, and promote competency in the practice of Urology. The Board evaluates candidates who are duly licensed to practice medicine, and arranges and conducts examinations for the purpose of certification, subspecialty certification, recertification, and ongoing maintenance of certification. Certificates are conferred by the Board to candidates who successfully complete all requirements for a given certificate.

The ABU certifies urologic physicians who meet its educational, professional standing, and examination criteria. To become certified, a urologist must have core competencies in all domains of urology, including but not limited to pediatric urology, endourology, female urology, andrology, oncology, urolithiasis, and general urology. All certified urologists are trained to evaluate and treat all patients with urological disorders.  www.abu.org

The primary purpose and most essential function of the Board is to protect the public by establishing and maintaining high standards in thoracic surgery. To achieve these objectives, the Board has established qualifications for examination and procedures for certification and recertification.
